Tommy Leon Melton

August 30, 1939 - March 19, 2008

Tommy Leon Melton, 68, of Midwest City passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at his home. Born August 30, 1939 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Tom and Ida Melton, he moved with his parents to Dewey Oklahoma where he graduated high school in 1957. Tommy served as City Clerk in three Oklahoma towns: Dewey, Broken Arrow and Midwest City where he retired in 1999 after 33 years of distinguished and dedicated service to his community. Tommy was a member of Country Estates Baptist Church, the Midwest City Optimist Club and the Sr. Golf League of MWC. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; sons: Steve and wife Teresa of Jones; Ron and wife Jennie of OKC and David of Staunton, VA; Grandchildren: Bryan, Michelle and Matthew; 5 Step grandchildren; 10 Step great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Services for Tommy will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 24, 2008 at Country Estates Baptist Church, 1000 S. Midwest Blvd. in Midwest City. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
