Benny R. Mason

June 23, 1939 - May 9, 2020

Benny "Ben" Mason, 80, of 9223 S.E. 44th St., Oklahoma City, OK, 73150, passed away at home on Saturday morning, May 9, 2020, where he was surrounded by family and love.
He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Teresa Mason: parents, Jack and Bonnie Mason: his brother, Bob Mason and sister, Betty LeBlanc.
He is survived by his lifetime sweetheart and loving wife of nearly 60 years, Pat Mason; son and daughter in-law Jack and Judy Mason; granddaughters, Kim Davis, Judina Davis, Jacqueline Mason, and Jillian Mason; great grandsons, Colton Huggard and Hayden Whitlock; great great grandson, Thomas Huggard; sisters, Billie Disney, Barbara Moore, and Sandy Pollard; and many adored nieces and nephews.
Ben was born Benny Ray Mason, on June 23, 1939 in Polly, Kentucky. The son of a coal miner, he grew up in Harlan County, Kentucky, where he graduated from Lynch Highschool in 1957. Ben went on to undertake a career in sales, becoming a talented salesman. After moving away and starting a family, he enjoyed returning to Lynch to attend the annual Lynch Bulldog Reunion and keeping in touch with old friends.
He and his wife also enjoyed country and western dancing, where they developed, and still cherish, longtime friendships.
Ben was an active member of the Moose Lodge 1235 located in Midwest City, OK since 1994. During this time, he enjoyed working to promote MooseHeart charities, Moose Haven, and various community projects, while establishing many friends.
Ben also had a passion for growing vegetables and trees, creating his own private forest during the last 45 years.
He will be greatly missed among his family and friends.
Private graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. to be officiated by Becky Johnson of Ford Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
