Newell Gene Linville

January 1, 1933 - January 28, 2021

Gene Linville, 88, loving husband, father, and grandfather, put on his best Air Force uniform and flew to Heaven on Thursday, January 28, 2021. He was born on January 1, 1933 in Monroe, Michigan to James and Lena Linville. He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; his parents James and Lena Linville; his sister, Violet and three brothers, Bob, Dick, and Jack. He leaves behind his daughter, Terry Linville; son, Mike Linville; daughter, Kerry Woodcox and husband Jeff. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Joshua Woodcox, Brea Hellard and husband Michael, Destinee Wilson and husband Adam and four great-grandchildren, Cole Cornett, Arya Wilson, Kyla Wilson and Ezra Wilson.
He enjoyed fishing, reading, crossword puzzles, talking planes and fishing television shows. He entered the Air Force as soon as he could, and it is there where his lifelong love of airplanes began, and where he flew planes for many years for the Air Force. In the service, while stationed in Altus, Oklahoma, he also met his wife, Juanita Fern Orr, on a trip to Hollis, Oklahoma. They were married on November 27th, 1954 and stayed married until her death in May 2013. One of his biggest accomplishments later in life was being baptized and accepting Christ. He was an incredibly generous man and prized family above all else.
He will receive a military burial on February 5th, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Arlington Memory Gardens through Ford Funeral Service.
