Mary Blanche Lee

Thursday, October 4th, 1928 - Tuesday, July 14th, 2020

In Loving Memory of Mary Blanche Lee
Our huge and still growing extended family is celebrating the life and mourning the passing of our matriarch, Mary Blanche Lee. Mary was born Mary Blanche Lassiter in Tulsa on the 4th of October 1928. Mary graduated from Pryor High School where she was honored as Football Queen in 1946. She continued her education at St Johns School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1949. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years Robert Emerson Lee, by her father Lester Orange "Jack" Lassiter and her mother Olga Ruth Howell-Lassiter. She is survived by her two sisters, Jackie Quintero and Billie Ruth Dunn both of Oklahoma City; by her eight children Robert Roy Lee, James Edward Lee, Mary Rebecca Lee, Denis Richard Lee, Dale Alan Lee, David Charles Lee, Mollie Ruth Olson all of metropolitan Oklahoma City and Melissa Renee Lee of Wichita Kansas. She is survived as well by her six grandchildren, Jesse David Coker, David Robert Lee, Dr. Sarah Renee Meadows, Donnie Ray Coker, Jarred Ray Meadows and Nicholas Alan Lee and by her twelve great grandchildren, Caidon, Aiden, Ethan, Memphis, Nathan, Zoey, Sailor, Emerson, Cloey, Stella, Shea and Brooks. Mary loved and held undying faith in her country which she served honorably for thirty-eight years in the Veteran's Administration as a registered nurse. An avid sports fan, her radio and television were constantly tuned to either the Atlanta Braves or the Oklahoma State Cowboys. In addition to her forty-four year career as an R.N., during our formative years she served as first responder and doctor to not only her eight children but to her nieces, nephews and a whole host of neighborhood children, all of whom remain a part of her family to this day. Mary derived her incredible sense of pride from the deeds and accomplishments of her extended family members which certainly included all of the above mentioned. Mary was a woman of faith who had no doubt that her life was a blessing that was gifted to her by her creator. Those of us who survive her know that it is we, in fact who were blessed. Her pure and constant and unconditional love was the kindest gift that we will ever know. That love will live in each of us for all of our remaining days and our reflection of that love will be her enduring legacy.
