Frank Johnson

Frank J. Johnson, 85, of Midwest City, passed away Fri. April 6, 2012. He was born May 1, 1926 in Plainfield, NJ to Harold F. and Johanna (Daly) Johnson. Frank retired from the US Navy after 20 years and was very proud of his service. He also retired from Honeywell. Frank loved to volunteer with many organizations. He was one of the founders of the Ronald McDonald House and sat on the board, enjoyed his time as an umpire for softball teams, was very involved with the Special Olympics, even traveling to make sure he did not miss events. Frank also spent time as a volunteer at Tinker AFB in the Pharmacy and Pass and ID. He also was an avid OU sports fan and enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Frank will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters Bobbi Kerr and Pamela Delavega, and numerous grand, great grand and great great grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis, sons Charles and Benny and his twin sister Ruth. In lieu of flower, the family requests that donations be made to the Oklahoma Special Olympics or Ronald McDonald House. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, Apr. 11, 2012 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
