Deral Hollis

December 21, 1917 - July 10, 2009

Deral Hollis, passed away early Friday morning, July 10, 2009 in Bolivar, MO, at the age of 91 years.
The son of the late Thomas Oscar "Jake" Hollis and Sara Annie Majors Hollis, Deral was born on December 21, 1917 in Brinkman, OK and was reared and educated in that area.
He was united in marriage to Elva Juanita Rodgers on June 4, 1938 and to this union three children, Janette, Thomas, and Charles were born.
Deral retired from the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, where he was in charge of Security for over twelve years. During his years as head of security he and his wife Juanita, had many stories of the famous movie stars that had attended the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was retired from the United States Army and is going to receive full military honors at his burial.
Survivors include his children, Janette Borthwick of Norman, OK, Thomas D. Hollis and his wife Jerry of Bolivar, MO, and Charles R. Hollis and his wife Susan of Florissant, CO; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 3 P.M. in the Arlington Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
