Violet Yearby Hale

October 31, 1932 - February 7, 2021

Violet Hale, 88, of Del City, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Violet was born on October 31, 1932 in Raiford, Florida to Joseph and Virda Dobbs. She married Roy Yearby on August 31, 1953 in Fort Pierce, Florida and moved to Oklahoma in 1969 as the U.S. Air Force journey took them across the country. She worked as a head directory assistance operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 28 ½ years of service she retired in July 1992. After retirement, she enjoyed working part-time at Hancock Fabrics, for 10 years. Violet truly lived life with a big smile and a heart to match it. She was known for her kind personality, being a wonderful and loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. For years she enjoyed quilting with her friends at Sunnnylane Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was very protective all of her loved ones as she kept them all close. She married Cecil Hale on September 3, 2005. Violet and Cecil loved to go to gospel concerts in Seminole, Oklahoma and also attend weekly at the MWC Senior Center. Violet was an active member of Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church.
Violet is survived by her husband, Cecil Hale, children Sam Yearby and wife Mary, Mike Yearby, Debbie Stuart and husband Ray; 10 grand-children and 16 great-grandchildren; 2 stepdaughters, Pauletta Hibbs and husband Joe, Melody Hulse and husband Terry; 2 stepsons, Bruce Hale and wife Diane, Mike Hale and wife Terri and their extended grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers Eugene Dobbs and wife Jean, Greg Dobbs and wife Bonnie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Virda Dobbs; brother Jimmy Dobbs and daughter-in-law Kristy Yearby.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 9am-8pm with family present from 6-8pm at Ford Funeral Services in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 11, 2021, 2pm at Ford Funeral Services and will also be livestreamed on Fordfuneral.com website under Violet’s tribute page. Following will be burial services at Arlington Memory Gardens.
We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Mercy Hospital, OKC for their amazing care of Violet.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to "Quilting Friends" with Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church at 4500 S.E. 31st Del City, OK 73115.
