Mary Lou Gillespie

September 1, 1939 - January 7, 2014

Mary and George Robert were married 46 years. Mary retired from Tinker AFB after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Choctaw Library Guild and served as their secretary for many years; member of Choctaw Road Baptist Church Cut-Up Quilt Class; and Tac & Yak class. She loved to sew, quilt, paint, knit and crochet. Many have been blessed with her gifts. Mary loved her Lord Jesus; lived her life fully; loved her family and friends; made all around her happy. Preceded in death by her father, Waldo (Bill) Stroope; brother, Billy Gene Stroope, husband, George Robert Gillespie. Survived by mother, Geneva Stroope, sister; Betty Sue Rowland and husband ,Gary; brother, Benny Paul Stroope and wife, Sharon; sister, Darlene Janz; brother, Waldo Dwight Stroope and wife, Pat; her wonderful Michigan Gillespie family and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Mary is also survived by her church family at Choctaw Road Baptist Church and many, many friends. The family wants to thank Dr. Kanah and his staff and the wonderful staff at Mercy Hospital 4th Floor.
