Loyed Edward Gayman

March 5, 1943 - June 4, 2020

Loyed Edward Gayman was born in Britton Hospital in Britton Oklahoma on March 5, 1943 to Garold Jack Isiah Gayman and Ova Mammie Ida Gayman. Loyed was their fifth child out of total of seven children. He grew up in Chandler, Oklahoma and went to Wellston public schools, where he was a softball player.
Loyed enlisted into the Army, then the Air Force Reserve, during his service, he was stationed in Korea, Germany, and Honduras. He earned the commendations of Sharpshooter and Marksman. After his enlistment, he worked as an aircraft mechanic on the AWACS turbines as a Civil Service at Tinker Air Base, Oklahoma City for over thirty years before retiring in 1992. During one of his enlistments in South Carolina is when he met Alice who became his wife of thirty-nine years. With this union, they had two sons: Dewayne and Justin.
Loyed was very active in his church life. He went to Westminister Road Baptist Church and then Lighthouse Baptist Church. He especially enjoyed going to Falls Creek and was very active in opening up the church and making coffee before services started.
His other hobbies included doing search-a-word puzzle books, and watching wrestling and various game shows and sports.
Loyed is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice, and brothers: William Gayman, George Gayman, and Garold Gayman, Jr.
He is survived by his sons: Dewayne Gayman and spouse Katherine Gayman, and Justin Gayman; two granddaughters: Katlin Gayman, and Kabrina Gayman; his siblings: John Gayman, Sarah Robinson, and Emma Gayman Wright.
Loyed's visitation and viewing will be on Thursday, June 11, 2020, from 4:00pm-8:00pm with funeral services to be held on Friday, June 12, 2020, at 3:00pm at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at 8805 NE 23rd Street Oklahoma City, Ok, with the graveside service to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
