Marvin Eaton, Jr.

Marvin Eaton age 69 of Oklahoma City, passed away at his home on January 1, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born on August 2, 1947 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He was the oldest child of two children born to Ellis Marvin Eaton, Sr. and Margaret Helen (Cobb) Eaton. Marvin grew up in South OKC and graduated from S.E. High School with the class of 1965. After high school he attended two years of college at Abilene Christian University before moving back to the OKC area. On March 21, 1968 he married the love of his life, Donna Cassity. Together raised three children, Michael, Scot, and Shawna. While his children were growing up they lived in Purcell for 15 years, then in 1993 they move back to OKC. While in high school Marvin developed a love for baseball which made him an avid fan for life. He also enjoyed coaching his children in little league and later on when they were playing youth baseball. To this day he enjoys watching baseball on TV and remained a die hard Saint Louis Cardinal Fan. Marvin worked for the State of Oklahoma as an Auditor for 31 years. After retiring he worked as a private contract auditor up until two months ago and his health began to fail. Marvin loved his family and especially loved his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by: Parents, Ellis and Margaret Eaton; He is survived by: Wife, Donna Eaton of the home in OKC, Three children, Michael Eaton of Seattle, WA. Scot Eaton of OKC, Shawna Wash and husband Charless of Newcastle. Three grandchildren, Amber Eaton, Joseph Wash and Emma Wash. One sister, Lawanna Skaggs and husband Dan of OKC, and their children, Nathan Skaggs and Wife Maralee of Edmond, and also Andrew Skaggs of OKC. A mother-in-law, Shirley Cassity of OKC. Visitation will be all day Wednesday and Thursday. Family will greet relatives and friends from 6pm-8pm Thursday evening at Newcastle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Friday at the Oakcrest Church of Christ in OKC. Interment will be at the Arlington Memory Gardens in MWC. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
