Harold Leon Dyer

February 25, 1932 - May 24, 2018

Harold L. Dyer, 86, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Shawnee.
He was born February 25, 1932 to Carl and Lois (McDaniel) Dyer in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Harold lived in California and moved back to Oklahoma. He graduated with the class of 1950 from Central High School.
At the age of 15 he met his future wife, Almeda Burnett and they were married on July 30, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They began their family in Oklahoma City and in 1969 moved to McLoud before settling in Tecumseh in 1999 where they resided since.
Harold worked as a truck driver and drove the first “Highway Post Office” mobile post office, as a B52 mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base, at Walmart for 9 years and along with his wife, they owned and operated the Redskin Snack Shop.
He loved fishing, golf, and cooking, especially, “Bullets Mulligan Stew”, and his famous biscuits and gravy. Harold played the steel guitar and was in the Four Leaf Clover Boys Band in 1950.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lois Dyer; 2 brothers, infant, Franklin Dyer and Kenneth Dyer.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 67 years, Almeda (Burnett) Dyer of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tony Morley of Jones, OK; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Dennis and Sharla Dyer of Tecumseh, OK and Joel and Lorrie Dyer of McLoud, OK; 11 grandchildren, Aaron and Melissa Dyer, Brandon and Lindsay Dyer, Carrie and Matt Hill, Emily and Jeremy Lawson, Tiffany and Tommy Prahm, Michael Dyer, Teagon and Jason Malone, Tristan Dyer, Tona Coen, Taylor and Stephen Tillinghast, and Austin and Carrie Morley; 22 great-grandchildren and expecting great-grandsons 23 and 24; and many friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at New Beginnings Church in Shawnee with Pastor Mike Taylor, New Beginnings Church officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Oklahoma City under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
