Harold D. Day

June 22, 1930 - December 31, 2014

Harold D. Day age 84, passed from this life Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Harold was born June 22, 1930 in Summersville, Missouri to his parents, Ralph and Mabel Day. He grew up on a farm with his three brothers and one sister. In high school he met the girl of his dreams Lavere (Jean) Miller and they were married in 1949. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Shidler, Oklahoma where he began his career with Phillips Petroleum. His career transferred him to Midwest City in 1962, and after thirty wonderful years and countless friends later he retired. He spent his retirement years hunting, fishing, playing golf and antique clock collecting. He loved his immediate family and extended family and treasured every minute spent with his grandchildren and great -grandchildren. His greatest accomplishment was planting seeds into their lives and futures. He was a fifty year Mason and actively involved at Country Estates Baptist Church and First Baptist Choctaw. Harold and Jean were blessed with the birth of three sons, Dwight, Bob, and Richard. Harold is survived by two sons, Dwight and Teresa Day of Edmond, Oklahoma and Richard and Joan Day of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren who lovingly called him 'PeePa' Tricia Thompson and husband Jim, Darrin Day and wife Karen, Christopher Day and Stephanie Day ; Tori Thompson, Will Thompson , Braylen Day, and Kinley Day. Two Brothers; Jack and wife Linda Day and Ralph and wife Dorothy Day. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean, son Bob and three of his siblings. A Special 'Thank You' to all the outstandingly compassionate and amazing staff at The Heart Hospital, south location. Without your loving care and tremendous efforts to heal our beloved Dad and Grandfather this unfortunate passing would have so much more difficult. Viewing will be Sunday January 4th from 1-8 p.m. and all day Monday, January 5th 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 500 S.W. 104th, Oklahoma City. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
