Hermione Coffey
June 9, 1917 - August 30, 2012
Hermione "Onie" Holcomb Coffey, 95 of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away August 30, 2012. She was born June 9, 1917, the fourth child of Claude and Bess Holcomb of Quanah, Texas. She grew up in Quanah, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech. University in 1938 and married Charles Milton Coffey that same year. After they married, Hermione taught first, second and third grade in a one room schoolhouse in Texas. Milton reenlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951. They traveled the world until Milton"s retirement in 1967. They settled in Ft. Worth, Texas. After Milton"s death in 1973 Hermione moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and an excellent bridge player. She loved to play bridge with her friends and spend time with her daughters and their families. She was a member of the Wickline United Methodist Church of Midwest City, OK for almost forty years. She is survived by two daughters, Claudia Coffey Fredericksen and husband Dale of Midwest City, Ok and Jean Coffey Richards and husband Roy of Choctaw, OK. Three grandchildren Beth Anne Moeller and husband Jeffery of Atlanta, GA, Jon Fredericksen and wife Jocelyn of Choctaw, OK, and Mark Richards and wife Amber of Moore, OK. and three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Milton Coffey, her parents, Claude & Bess Holcomb, her three sisters Elizabeth Verner, Grace Dorsey and Helen Gaddis and one brother Claude Holcomb, Jr. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Arbor House Assisted Living Center and Hospice Quality Care, Inc. of Midwest City, OK. There will be viewing with family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Barnes Friedrich Funeral Home, Midwest City, OK. Monday, September 3, 2012. Services will be held at the Wickline United Methodist Church of Midwest City, OK on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm, followed by an entombment at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family has designated Wickline United Methodist Church, Midwest City, OK. "Wickline Scholarship" as appropriate for memorials.
