Selma Brown

The funeral for Selma Stettnisch Brown, 88, of Oklahoma City was Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Oklahoma City. Burial was in Arlington Memory Gardens. Arrangements were by Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
She was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Breckinridge to Frank and Dora Helberg Stettnisch and died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005.
She attended school and church at Immanuel Lutheran, Breckinridge. She later moved to Oklahoma City and graduated from Oklahoma City Business College.
She worked as a secretary for Exxon Oil Company where she retired as an executive assistant. She was a member and officer in the Desk and Derrick Club.
She married Ansel Brown Oct. 2, 1971. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, serving on the library committee, church office volunteer and secretary. She was involved with Camp Lutherhoma as well as assisting with the administration of youth programs. She moved to Spanish Cove Retirement Village in 1993.
Surviving are her sister, Elsie Schultz of Enid and one step-son, Doug Brown.
Besides her husband, Ansel, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 3600 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
