Lyle Rex Boyer

September 21, 1938 - October 22, 2011

Lyle Rex Boyer (A.K.A. BUGGS), Age 73, died in his home in Midwest City on Thursday, October 20, 2011, after a battle with cancer. He was born on September 21, 1938 in Gooding Idaho to Tom and Nellie Boyer. He joined the United States Air Force in 1956, and served his country for 26 years, retiring as a Master Sargent from the military in 1982. He continued to work civil service at Tinker until 1999. He enjoyed his later years by spending time with his family, working out at the YMCA, and bowling. "Buggs" was an avid bowler, participating in numerous leagues throughout his life. He married Johnnie Mae (Johnson) on June 7, 1958 and they had five children. They were married for 53 years. Lyle is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Jimmy, Tommy Lee, Michael and Bruce. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie, two sons at home, James and Mason Boyer, and three daughters, Kelli and (Frank) Graf of NE, Lesa Burke of Plano, TX, and Shari and (John) Kincade of Fort Smith, AR., 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. One sister, Jody (Getzinger), and three brothers, Donnie, Gary, and Art. Lyle"s life will be remembered and celebrated with a rosary service at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Barnes Friederich F.H. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery.
