Mary Frances Barton

December 18, 1925 - April 15, 2019

Mary Frances (Boaz) Barton was born December 18, 1925, in Wichita, Kansas, and left this earth on April 15, 2019, at the age of 93, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the second of seven children of Grover and Fannye Boaz.
She was preceded by her parents; two brothers, Lee Boaz and Grover Boaz; one sister, Connie Price; her husband, Carl E. Barton; and one son, Clifford Barton.
Mary was on the swim team of her local high school and played violin in the Junior Symphony Orchestra. She married first Milton Watkins, and had two children, Nancy and Milt. When she became a single mother, she worked as a proofreader for the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. She married Carl E. Barton, and they had five more children: Janet, Carl, Clifford, Trish, and MaryAnne.
Mary is survived by six of her seven children, Nancy Petty, Milt Watkins, Janet Hascall and her husband, Johnnie, Carl Barton and his wife, Betty, Trish Wiest and her husband Jim, and MaryAnne Thurmond. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia "Pat" Grisham, Louise Hendricks, and Jacqueline Albert; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 18, 2019 at The Vine Church in Mustang. Burial will follow in the Arlington Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
