Hildegard Bartmess

April 4, 1926 - April 20, 2020

Hildegard Bartmess passed away the afternoon of April 20th, 2020 at the age of 94. Hildegard was born on April 5th, 1926 in Germany to Eugen and Anna Ehrhardt. Growing up Hilde enjoyed being active. She played sports and loved running. Later on, she would meet the love of her life, Ross Bartmess. They met during Ross’ time in the military from a mutual friend who would turn out to be a future brother-in-law. They stayed in Germany for 18 months and began creating a life together. Moving from Germany to Ft. Hood, Texas until Ross was discharged from the army. She loved kids and spent her time working in the child development field. In her later years Hilde enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Hildegard is survived by her husband Ross D. Bartmess; children Gabi Dupuis of France, Doris Herrmann of Germany, Ilona Schmitz of Texas, Ronnie Bartmess of Oklahoma City, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
