Born and reared near Luther, Mrs. Kuntz joined the U.S. state department staff in Washington, D.C., shortly after her husband's death here in the late 1930s. During World War II, she was attached to the American embassies in Paraguay and Uruguay.
At the close of the war, she was transferred to the U.S. military government in Europe and, until September 1950, was stationed at The Hague, Holland. She then returned to Washington and the state department until two months ago.
Mrs. Kuntz was the daughter of Lafayette Sanders, well-known peace officer during Oklahoma territorial days.
She is survived by a son, Richard Kuntz, Rivera, Calif.; a sister, assistant professor of modern languages at the University of Oklahoma who now is studying in Paris, France; a brother, Harden Sanders, who lives on SW 29th in Oklahoma City, and a cousin, Leo C. Sanders, 531 NE 17.
