GLADYS MAE BENDA
1929-2006
Gladys Mae Benda, 77 of Yukon, Oklahoma died April 2, 2006.
Gladys was born January 21, 1929 in Oklahoma City to Joe and Emily Straka.
She married Stanley A. Benda on April 10, 1949.
Gladys loved to dance at Czech Hall where she made many friends. She was very proud of her Czech Heritage and her life on the farm.
Her hobbies included walking her dogs, tending flowers and doing aerobics.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother "Babi".
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Glen Straka.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Stanley; two sons Steve Benda and wife Carolyn of Yukon; Billy Benda and his wife Kathy of Arlington, Texas; and one daughter Donna Hale and husband Freddy of Weatherford, Oklahoma. Also eight grandchildren and one brother Bill Straka and wife Toni of Santa Barbara, California; sister-in-law Barbara Straka; and many nephews and nieces.
She will never be forgotten for her zest for life and love of her family.
Services will be held in The Chapel of the Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 2 p.m., interment following at Czech National Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
