Phyllis Fern Franklin

Phyllis Fern Franklin , 89, of Oklahoma City, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008. The daughter of Roy and Myrtle Tunnell, she was born January 8, 1919 in Perkins, OK.
She was a member of the Putnam City United Methodist Church, Methodist Women's Society, and the Legacy Member Honor Guard Society, Arlington Cemetery, Washington D.C.
She was preceded in death by a son, Sgt. Marvin Lyle Franklin , Jr., Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns, Washington, D.C., who was killed in Vietnam in 1967.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Lyle Franklin , Sr.; children, Diana Kay Rathbun and husband, Michael, and Jon P. Franklin and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Jason Pearson, Matthew Rathbun, Timothy Rathbun and wife, Heidi, and Andrew Franklin ; and great grandchildren, Maggie, Leah, and Gabe Rathbun.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, at Putnam City United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home of Edmond.
