Funeral services for Edna Kay Childers were held May 25 at Christian-Gavlik Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Bateman and Rev. Charles Puckett officiating.
She was born March 9, 1920 in Russellville, AR. To Arthur and Gertrude 9Stapp) Whitlock and died recently in Broken Arrow at the age of 87.
She married Anderson John Childers in Sequin, TX. On Oct. 1, 1940 . Mrs. Childers was in the furniture upholstery business.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson on Nov 18, 2001 ; her parents, Arthur and Gertrude Whitlock; daughter, Tinnie Jen Childers; and five brothers, Ed, Paul, Vincent “Red”, Amos and Ray Whitlock.
Survivors include daughters, Geneva Jane Efird and husband Tom of Lockhart, TX. And Janet Kay Lipska and husband Dean of Altus ; sons, Anderson John Childers and wife Susan of Minot, ND., and Michael Joe Childers and wife Sara of Tulsa; three brothers, George Whitlock and wife Nancy of Henryetta, Davis Whitlock of Henryetta, and Joe Whitlock and wife Viola of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
Interment followed services at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka.
