Joe Henry Puckett, a resident of Dustin was born November 9, 1932 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Burdine (Skaggs) and Lillard Fate Puckett. He passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at his home in rural Dustin, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years 3 months and 15 days.

Joe was married to Joyce (Callaway) Puckett in Weleetka, Oklahoma on October 18, 1985. He was a very active member of the Weleetka Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, Lillard & Burdine Puckett, and by two brothers, Bobby Clayton Puckett, and John Doyle Puckett.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Puckett, of the home; daughter, Vicki Lynn Smith & husband Delbert, Amarillo. Texas; daughter, Jo Ann Threlkeld & husband Dan, Tulsa; son, Michael Wayne Lance, Boynton; daughter, Cathy Lynn Thomas & husband Jerry, Boynton; 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, sister, Dorothy Jean Douglas, Oklahoma City; brother, Roy Lee Puckett, Weleetka; brother, Tommy Edwin Puckett & wife Leadean, Weleetka; as well as a host of other relatives & friends.

Pallbearers will be Dan Threlkeld, Roy Lee Puckett, Tommy Puckett, Bill Abercombie, John Cartwright, and Bobby Puckett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Thomas, and Michael Wayne Lance.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Church Of Christ officiated by Milton Gleghorn. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
