Funeral services were held May 30 at the First Baptist church in Weleetka for Glen David Kub. Rev Dennis Yeubanks and Chaplain Sam Garner officiated at the services.
Mr. Kub was born May 27 in Dustin to Dennis Flynn “Bear” Kub and Ella Mae (Minyard) Kub and died May 26 in Tulsa at the age of 80.
He spent his early years in the Dustin area later moving and starting school in Sulpher where he graduated from the Sulpher School for the Deaf in 1944. On Dec. 3, 1944, he married Eunice Marie Hudson. This year they would have been together 62 years. They made their home in California and Tulsa short time while he was working for the McDonald-Douglas Aircraft Company. In the mid 1940’s they moved to Weleetka where he started a career at the Ball Glass Company in the shipping department in Okmulgee. He worked there for 31 years until retiring in 1988.
He loved working on cars and built a ’52 Roadster replica for his daughter. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers, Bobby David and Loyd Eugene.
Survivors include his wife Eunice, of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Jack Choate of Okemah, Glenna and Mark Nelson of Tulsa; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne Oldacre and Marry Hollis of Talala; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jack Choate, Jack Choate Jr., Mark Nelson, Mike Choate, Kevit Vass, and Troy Minnicks.
Interment was at the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
