Funeral services held June 20 at Shurden Chapel, Henryetta, for Rebecca Louise Earls. Rev. J.R. Taylor officiated at the services.
Mrs. Earls was born Oct 26, 1926 in Coweta to Louisa (Canard) Scott Long and Alec Scott and died June 17 at Henreyetta at the age of 79.
She grew up in Okfuskee County where she attended school. She was married to James Earls and worked as a housekeeper until her retirement. Mrs. Earls was a member of the Alabama Indian Baptist Church of Weleetka and enjoyed Indian jewelry and beadwork as well as all Indian crafts.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James; two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her brother Robert Woods and wife JoAmy, of Sasakwa; a sister, Hempsey Harjo of Weleetka, a half sister Jeanetta Harjo and husband, Monroe of Shawnee; and a niece, Geneva Bair and husband David of Dewar ;several other nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pallberers were David Bair, Harbor Harjochee, Dean Welch, Scott Harjo, Rufus Scott, and Bill Red Harjo.
Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weleetka under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
