Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday. Jan 5, for Mrs. Willie Mae Phillips at the Webb's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rickey McVeigh officiating. She died Dec. 29 in the Creek Nation Community hospital at the age of 88.
She was born Oct 8, 1901, at Eufaula Indian Territory. She moved to the Morse community North of Okemah in 1921 with her husband, Joseph (Joe) Phillips. He preceded her in death in 1944.
She is survived by two sisters, Dolly Mitchell of Morris Community, and Flora Newman of Rhode Island, and Sterling Nabours, Ponca City, and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Webb's Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Root, Clayton and James Cheatwood, and Gerald, Van and Bob Hardin.
