Services honoring Hubert Edgar "Hugh" Zimmerman, Jr. will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2018, at First Baptist Church, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Hugh was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on Wednesday, June 1, 1938 to Hubert and Nonnearl (Bennett) Zimmerman. Hugh passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 80.
Hugh had a successful career as an operation manager for Purolator filters. Hugh served multiple terms as mayor of Stilwell in the 90s and also acted as utilities manager for the City of Stilwell. On June 22, 1991, Hugh married Juanita Killingsworth in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was filled with love and laughter and many happy years together. Hugh was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was devoted to his family and adored his grandchildren.
Hugh grew up on a dairy farm and loved farm life. During his years, Hugh carried with him the many lessons he learned on the farm. Hugh enjoyed gardening and growing plants and vegetables to share with his friends and family. Hugh was always a hard worker and enjoyed building things and in recent years, he loved woodworking.

Hugh is survived by, his wife, Juanita Zimmerman, Broken Arrow, children, Charles Zimmerman and wife Susan, Siloam Springs, Ark., Duanita Helm and husband Kevin, Yukon, Joe Buckmaster and Mary Kuykendale, Broken Arrow, grandchildren, Bethany Buckmaster, Tucson, Ariz., Dr. David Stewart Zimmerman, M.D. and Abigail, Springdale, Ark., Blake Helm and Chelsea, Trophy Club, Texas, Amanda Helm, Yukon, Will Smith, Tulsa, and Alex Smith, Anchorage, Alaska, great-grandchildren, Jaruth Zamora and Penelope May Zimmerman soon to be born in November 2018.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Nina Faye Albright Zimmerman, daughter Diane Smith, and sister Iva Catherine Zimmerman.
