Celebration of Life Service for Valarie Adele Zaloudek, 71, Enid, will be Thursday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m. at University Place Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Valarie Adele Evans was born on February 17, 1950, to Glen and Wanda (Johnnie) Evans and passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021.
She was raised on the family farm near Sand Creek, OK. Valarie attended Manchester Grade School and Wakita High School, where she graduated as valedictorian in both grade school and high school.
Valarie attended Northwestern State College at Alva, OK, where she met the love of her life, Monte Zaloudek. She graduated with a degree in Mathematics Education. Valarie and Monte were married on April 14, 1973, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Enid, OK. To this union, one son, Andrew (Drew), was born. Valarie was most proud of her son.
Valarie enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom during Drew's early years. She served as PTO President, Cub Scout Den mother and Scout Roundtable Leader.
She began working for Farmer's Insurance on March 1, 1993, and continued there for twenty-six years. She finished her career with Allstate Insurance.
Valarie enjoyed sewing, knitting, counted cross-stitch and needlepoint. She and Monte built a fully furnished doll house.
She was a member of University Place Christian Church, where she served as a deacon and as church treasurer. She was secretary of Disciples Women's Fellowship and served as treasurer of Church Women United. Valarie loved Oklahoma Storm and OKC Thunder Basketball.
Valarie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Monte; one son, Drew; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and parents-in-law.
