Pryor
Chuen Tai Yu “Dee Dee”, a devoted mother, grandmother, and
friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at
the age of 74. Born on November 10, 1950, in Shilongzhen, Guangdong, China,
Chuen dedicated herself to building a rich life that intertwined her
cultural roots with her passion for community engagement.
For 18 years, Chuen owned and operated Golden China, a cherished establishment in Pryor for many years. Her commitment to providing quality service and authentic cuisine left a lasting impression on her patrons, further solidifying her status as an integral part of the community. Chuen had an innate ability to connect with those around her, finding joy in meeting new people and fostering relationships within the area.
Chuen’s greatest treasures were her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Simon Yu and Brett of Manlius, NY, and Jackson Yu along with Michelle from Hong Kong. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Sophie and Megan Yu, and Charlie and Jack Edkins-Yu.
Her passion for family was matched only by her love for her community, where she spent countless hours interacting with neighbors and friends. Pryor was not just a place to her; it was home, a cherished backdrop against which she created numerous memories with loved ones and where she raised her family.
Chuen is preceded in death by her husband, Ho Ming Yu.
No services for Chuen are planned at this time. To leave a message, please visit her guestbook at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service of Pryor.
