Timothy Faron Young was born Sept. 22, 1956, in Oklahoma City to Roy Bethel and Mildred Bernice [Stillwell] Young.
He passed from this life at Chickasha, Oklahoma as the result of a homicide sometime during the week of Aug. 8, 2010; his body was discovered on Friday, Aug. 13 at his home where he had resided for the past 15 years.
"Tim" was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and had attended Eastern State College, Oklahoma Christian University, and Northeastern State University.
He had also attended horseshoeing school and was a certified farrier. He was an accomplished musician and performed with several renowned Bluegrass bands including the Bluegrass Gentlemen.
He had been an early member of the Oklahoma Bluegrass Club. He performed at many Bluegrass shows and had been a popular entertainer at Hugo, Tahlequah and various regional Bluegrass festivals.
He was currently self-employed in the antique furniture restoration business.
He had previously worked for Lightner's Grocery and the City of Chickasha. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Chickasha where he often assisted in serving meals to the homeless.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lanny Young. He is survived by one brother, Roy Young, and his wife Charlotte, of Apache; three nephews, John Faron Young and his wife Chrisie and son Cole; Brian Young and his wife Kristy and sons Jackson and Brady; and Roy Brent Young and his wife Amy and daughter Lillian and son Lucas.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at Cornerstone Church in Chickasha with minister Bill Nunley officiating.
