The funeral for Paul L. Young, 74, of Parsons, Kan., will be 2 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, Parsons. The Rev. Ken Lott will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dennis, Kan. Arrange-ments are by Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, Parsons.
He was born May 10, 1931, in Enid, OK. to Earl L. and Maude Wethington Young and died Friday, March 3, 2006, at his home.
He graduated from Goltry OK. High School in 1949. He married Ellen L. Cooper Aug. 27, 1950, at Goltry. They moved to Wichita, Kan., in 1954, where he was employed at Boeing as a machinist until 1967, when they moved to Parsons. He worked at Dayton-Superior Company as a machinist until retirement. He also farmed.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Parsons, where he had been an elder. He was also a member of McCune Lions Club, serving as president.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen of the home; two sons, Paul S. Young of Frontenac, Kan., and Mark Young of Bakersfield, Calif.; two daughters, Marsha Hambleton and Sue Ellen Young, both of Parsons; two brothers, Donald Young of Thayer, Kan., and David Young of Gore, OK.; one sister, Evelyn Pecha of Parsons; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, and a great-grandson.
