Hope Elexa Elaine Young

July 4, 1965 ~ April 15, 2023 

HOPE ELEXA ELAINE YOUNG was the fifth of seven children born to Velma June Young in Ardmore. She was born July 4, 1965, and departed this life in Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 8:08 p.m. She was 57.

Hope grw up in Marietta and graduated from Marietta High School with the Class of 1984. She worked diligently for Love County Hospital for many years before becoming employed by Lake Country Nursing Center as a dietary specialist. Hope loved all of the residents and coworkers at Lake Country and knew each one by name. She always greeted each one with a smile.

Hope was a people person, and she nevere met a stranger. She was the most kindhearted person one will ever meet. She was always willing to help anyone she could. Hope was an excellent cook; her desserts were her specialty. She loved kids and caring for others.

Hope was preceded in death by her longtime companion and husband, Lee Vesta Wright; her mother, Velma June Young; and brother, William "Bill" Young, Jr.

Hope was ecstatic to become a mother when the Lord blessed her with her own son, Lee Vante Wright. She was a wonderful mother to Lee.

Hope is survived by her son, Lee Vante Wright of the home, and her grandson, Josiah Ki'on Wright.

Hope's sisters are Rhonda McGee, Vivian Young and Chester Roberts, and Charlesanna Williamson and Joseph, all of Ardmore. Her brothers are Wade Young and Tammy of Marietta and Charlie Clark Jr., and Naomi Albert of Ardmore. Other friends that Hope loved as sisters are Angela Mefee and Louis of Midwest City and Kristi Brown of Marietta. She also leaves behind those she loved and adored; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and dthe staff and residents of Lake Country Nursing Center.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21 at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Marietta.
