Services for Dede Young will be on 2:00 PM Monday April 3, 2023 at the First Assembly of God Church, 905 N. Oakwood Rd. with the Reverend Dan Barrick officiating.
Diedre (Dede) Keay Bruce Young, age 63 was born on March 22, 1960 to WH and Shirley Bruce in Inglewood, California and departed this life on March 27, 2023 in Carrier, Oklahoma after a very hard fight with cancer. She attained an Associate Degree from Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas, attended Northern College, and graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Technology. She served in the Navy Reserve. She worked at Share Medical in Alva, McCurtain County Hospital in Idabel, Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid, and St.Mary's Medical Center in Enid. Dede took early retirement due to health concerns.
She is survived by her husband Buzz Young, Jr.; her daughter Erinn Dimpel (Al) of Enid, grandchildren Kaidynce Greenlee, Zeke Dimpel, Zayne Dimpel all of Enid; sisters and brothers; Jane Ann Collier (Mike) of Springfield, MO; David Bruce (Charlotte) of Midland, TX; Brian Bruce (Kim) of Enid, Dennis Bruce (Nancy) of Breckinridge; and Teggie Bruce of Enid.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tracy Bruce, and two nephews.
Dede had a very kind heart and had a passion for helping others. Her grandkids were her center and loved being with and doing things with them. Throughout her life her love of cats was very apparent as there was always at least one, and sometimes more, of them around her. She put her family first and loved and cared for all of them.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division with Stittsworth Funeral Service as caretakers of the funds.
