Barbara Ilene King Young, 61, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on October 3, 2021. Barbara was born to Pauline Warrior on October 10, 1959, in Ponca City, OK. Private family services are planned at a later date.
Besides Ponca City, there are a few other places she has called home throughout her life such as, Newkirk, Morrison and Marland. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed talking with her children about what was going on in her life and theirs. She also would help them throughout their life. She was the glue that kept us together with love and happiness, no matter how far apart we were. She was a strong, beautiful woman who had her own special way of showing and teaching everyone that was willing to learn.
Barbara was a gentle, Christian woman that loved God and reading the Bible. She loved to help people less fortunate than herself. The best thing about her was when it came to Friday and Saturday evenings, she spent those nights with her grandchildren teaching them the ways of the Lord.
She leaves behind her children, Funston John King, Jasmine Staley, Edward King, Maurico Garcia, Miguel Garcia; 14 grandchildren, Auroara King, Audrey Powers, Satante King, Ashley Epperson Hill, Matthew Epperson, Tyler Epperson, NNethanyel Garcia, Nia Garcia, Mauricia, Garcia, Auriel Meeks, Layla Meeks, Owen Windham, Michael Gutierrez, Roy Gutierrez, 4 great-grandchildren, Cora Hill, Dustyn Hill, Liam Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez; sisters, Sierra King and Georgette Lara.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Warrior; father, Woodrow King and son, Ian Shea King.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
