Alfred Guy Young Jr. passed from this life surrounded by family on July 12, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 28, 2018 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel.
Alfred Guy Young Jr. was born on March 31, 1943 in Lebanon, PA and graduated high school from Hazlehurst, MS. He had a strong love of fishing and loved to share that experience with anyone. Any good gathering at the Young household would start with a fish fry and crunchy french fries.
Guy is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Guy Young Sr, Fredda Cooper; step-mother, Grace Young; brother, Kenneth Young and sister, Alice Rogers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Young; five children, Alfred Guy Young III and wife Bonnie of Hazlehurst, MS, Thomas Wayne Young and wife Tessa of Hazlehurst, MS, Denise Thompson of Georgetown, MS, Christopher Harris of Hennessey, OK, Carey Harris and wife Kelly of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren, Jennifer Young-Case, Haleigh Young, Devon Young, Cody Young, Deanna Young, Colby Thompson, Logan Thompson, Julia Harris; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and brother, James Young.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stillwater Medical Foundation, Heart & Vascular Institute.
