IO Yates, age 59, passed from this life June 2, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. He was born September 16, 1960 in Atoka, Oklahoma to O'Neal and Maybell (Rose) Yates.
IO enjoyed hanging out with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, riding ATVs, being with friends, reading the bible, and trucking. He was a lifelong resident of Atoka and was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is Preceded in death by parents: O'Neal and Maybell Yates; brother: Chester Joseph Lathan; and grandson: Chance Yates.
IO is survived by his special friend: Arlene Jacobs; children: Chandra and Willie Alford of Caney, Oklahoma, Justin and Jennifer Yates of Caney, Oklahoma, and Samantha Hearrell of Boswell, Oklahoma; brothers: Dicky Yates and wife Shirlene of Atoka, Oklahoma, Tim Yates of Lake Worth Beach, FL, and Dewight Lathan of Hugo, Oklahoma; sister: Nedra Sossaman and Husband Bobby of Georgetown, Texas; sister-in-law: Brenda Lathan of Copperas Cove, Texas; grandchildren: Austin Yates, Cameron Yates, Ethan Yates, Payton Smith, Tanner Smith, Kamry Westmoreland, Ryder Westmoreland, and Jase Stiles; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.
Pallbearers include: Melvin Jacobs, Jimmy McPherson, Patrick Pierce, Justin John, Billy (Buck) Honeycutt, Edmond Jacobs, and David Wilson.
Services will be held 10AM, Friday, June 5, 2020 at Church of The Rock in Lane, Oklahoma with Raymond Humphrey officiating.
Services entrusted to Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
