In 1972, upon the death of Quentin’s father, they moved to Tonkawa and took over the family farm. Quentin’s parents were both pilots and had maintained an airstrip on the farm. Their love of flying was passed down to Quentin who trained for and received his private pilot’s license in Ponca City, OK.

He later began an aerial spraying business called Wyler Flying Service which he operated from the airstrip on the farm.

In 1987, after having sold the farm, Quentin went to work as a corporate pilot for Conoco in Ponca City where he flew for 19 yrs, retiring in 2006.

Quentin had a passion for flying which was passed on to his two sons, who have followed in his footsteps and have both pursued careers as professional pilots.

He also loved the outdoors including fishing, camping and traveling. He and his family enjoyed snow skiing, and spent many vacations in Colorado. Often times the family traveled from the family farm aboard Quentin’s Cherokee 6.

Quentin had many other hobbies. He enjoyed building and flying RC airplanes, which he and his sons enjoyed together. He liked to buy and rebuild old cars, which he also did for his boys. The 3 of them enjoyed racing those cars at the Ark City drag strip. He enjoyed golf especially when playing with his family. He liked riding motorcycles, something he and his sons did together. On several occasions they went for scenic rides together in Arkansas, often with Kathy in tow on the backseat.

Quentin was a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tonkawa, where he was an usher for a time and a member of the Men’s SS class.

His survivors include his wife Kathy of the home; sons William Wyler and wife Melissa, of Edmond, OK; Timothy Wyler and wife Tonya of Springdale, AR; grandchildren, Alayna Wyler, Christian Wyler, Sydney Wyler, Macey Wyler and Hannah Wyler; sisters, Connie Voth and husband, Charles of Pyatt, AR, Bonnie Legg of Tonkawa plus many nieces, nephews and other family members.
