William Albert Wright, 66, of Kiowa, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at a local nursing home. A Gathering of Remembrances service will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
William was born in December 1, 1948 to Albert Julian & Wanda Louise Phillips Wright. He attended school in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School.
He then joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and was stationed in Vietnam where he completed one tour of duty. He was honorably discharged in 1971.
William was a carpenter independently working for people that called him and also working for other builders. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed the outdoors.
He was a member of the Wardville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters: Sherry Wright of Wardville, Carey & husband, William Shaeffer of Pittsburg, Diane & husband, Van Parker of Wynnewood, Alice Shuman of McAlester; brothers: Leonard Wayne & wife, Norma Wright of McAlester, Roy & wife, Tina Wright of Kiowa; father: Albert J. Wright of the home. Also, grandchildren: Dylan & wife, Jessica Parker, Adrianna Parker, Tanner Wright, Braden Brines, Emmalee Williams, Slade Wright, Javyn Shuman, Brice Shuman, Chandler Shuman; and a host of nieces & nephews and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Wanda Wright, a brother: Donald Wright, and a grandson: Hayden Matthew Williams.
