Shirley Cole (Kurtis) Wright

August 27, 1928 ~ October 2, 2019

Shirley Cole Wright passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the age of 91. She is survived by her daughter Dianne Fallis and sister Ellen Johnson. She is also survived by two nieces, Linda Johnson and Karen Sawyer Simmons.

Shirley was born in Boston, MA on August 27, 1928 to Lewis and Doris Kurtis. Shirley graduated High School in 1946 from Weymouth, MA. She married Arthur Wright on February 18, 1949. They were married 51 years when Arthur passed away on January 1, 2001. Arthur was a Veteran of World War II and retired from Boston Edison of Boston, MA in 1991. Shirley was an Avon Sales Representative for 35 years, winning the Presidential Sales award 10 times. Shirley was an avid reader and bridge player. Arthur and Shirley ran a successful jewelry store in Holbrook, MA for 11 years before retiring and moving to St. Pete, FL. Shirley and Arthur enjoyed traveling and taking cruses. Shirley moved to Bartlesville, OK in 2015 and lived at Green Country Retirement Village.

There will be a Memorial Service for Shirley on October 9th at 10:00am at Green Country Village. Shirley was cremated by Stumpff Funeral Home of Bartlesville and will be laid to rest in Bourne National Cemetery next to Arthur in May of 2020. Please do not send flowers but rather make donations to the Salvation Army at 101 N. Bucy Ave. Bartlesville, OK 74003.
