Robert David Wright Sr (Johnny), 69, of Midwest City, OK went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2012. He was born in Charlottesville, VA on September 5, 1942 to Robert Lynn Wright and Elsie Mae Walker. He had 9 siblings.
He served in the US Army from March 1964 to March 1966 where he was a heavy equipment driver.
He was married on February 15, 1967 to Ok Hwa Chung. They made their home in Midwest City, OK where Mr. Wright worked for the Boardman Steel Company for 30 years as a shop foreman that specialized in the fire truck fabrication. After retirement from the Boardman Steel Company, Mr. Wright opened his own business where he continued working in emergency equipment services for several years. He was passionate about antique cars, and loved fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church of Midwest City, OK.
He is survived by 3 children, daughter: Shirley Wright of Frisco, Texas and two sons Robert David Wright, Jr. of Stigler Oklahoma and Dawell Lee Wright and wife Diane Wright, of Harrah, Oklahoma. 12 Grandchildren: Brandon Norman of Moore, OK, Heather Dorsey and husband Vincent Dorsey of Moore, OK, Christin Furgeson of Ostego, MI, Josh Rushing and wife Jessalyn Rushing of Oklahoma City, OK, Carlee Wright of Moore, OK, Spencer Rushing & Zack Rushing of Harrah, OK, Kody Wright & Gloria Wright of Moore OK, Dawson Wright, Emma Wright, and Gatlin Wright of Stigler OK. 4 Great Grand Childern, Haidyn & Eli Dorsy of Moore, OK, Mia Hilts of Ostego, MI, Landon Rushing of Oklahoma City, OK. 3 sisters; Sylvia L. Watson, Newalla, OK, Mary O"Hara Fickett of Prince George, Virginia, Sarah Jeanette Martin of Charlottesville, Virginia, 2 brothers; Richard Austin Wright, Bedias, TX, William Edward Wright, Conway, Arkansas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Ok Hwa Wright, son, George Wright, brothers, James Michael Wright and Ronald Stephen Wright and sisters, Lillian Gail West and Linda Lee West.
The Reverend Jessie Spurlock will officiate the service. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home.
