Roger Wright, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather left this life too soon in Colbert, Oklahoma, on Friday August 18, 2017, at the age of 61. He was born on November 4, 1955 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Sampson Orie Jasper and Lena Ruth (Solomon) Wright. Roger married his beloved Pat in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on June 4, 1983.
Roger was a skilled Master Carpenter by trade. He left Raleigh, North Carolina, and came to Oklahoma in February 2010. Roger was a member of Victory Life Church in Durant, Oklahoma. He cherished his family, and they will miss his presence.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Pat Wright; children, Jeremiah Wright and wife Erin of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jonathan Wright and wife Ashley of Raleigh, North Carolina, Joshua Wright and wife Jessica of Raleigh, North Carolina, Catherine Boneparte of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mary Dickson and husband Brandon of Raleigh, North Carolina, Christina Trovato of Milford, Connecticut, Alicia Moore and husband Chris of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Pamela Jo of Colbert, Oklahoma; sisters, Joyce Jenzano of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Linda Tingen and husband Norman of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; mother-in-law, LaFraye Parkey of Colbert, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Dave Parkey of Denison, Texas; and 19 beloved grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Roger was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Christopher Alexander; brother, Ronald Wright; and parents, Jack and Ruth Wright.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday August 22nd at Victory Life Church in Durant Oklahoma with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Family and friends may send online condolences and view tributes at www.holmescoffeymurray.com .
