Laura Lee Wright, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at her home in Prague, at the age of 59. Laura was born on October 14, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Vernon Paul Stankewitz, Lola Mae (Green) Stankewitz and her mother by marriage, Janyce Stankewitz. Laura grew up in Oklahoma City and was a 1982 graduate of US Grant High School.
Laura married Eddie Wright in 2007 and the family made their home in Chandler, Oklahoma. The two were married until he preceded her in death in 2017. Laura has made her home in Prague for the past four years.
Laura had a giving spirit, she never wanted anyone to do without. She was very involved in several volunteer programs throughout her life. She would often fill the local pantries with groceries for those in need. Laura was a devoted member of the Chandler First United Methodist Church. She spent many hours studying her Bible and worshipping her Lord and Savior. Laura had a way of bringing joy to everyone she came across and her joyous and giving spirit will be greatly missed.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie Wright and her sister, Paula Kay Stankewitz and sister by marriage, Kristy Price.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother by marriage, Janyce Stankewitz; two daughters, Rorie Bertil Piil and Joslyn Desirae Wright; two children by marriage, Damon Wright and Audra Chamhidray; three grandchildren, Ophelia Miller, Odette Miller and one grandchild on the way; her brother, Garrett Paul Stankewitz and a host of family and friends.
Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Chandler First United Methodist Church.
