Herbert Howard “Bud” Wright

Herbert Howard “Bud” Wright passed from this life with his family by his side on January 14, 2023.

Bud was born on October 19, 1942, to Everett George and Zella Loraine (Ralston) Wright in Agra, Oklahoma. Bud was the baby of eleven children.

He served in the Armed Forces as a Marine. When he returned from boot camp, he met the love of his life, Evelyn White, and they married on October 19, 1962. They had two children, Scott and Lori. Lynn and his children were the most important things in his life. He took great joy in helping the kids with their ag projects in 4-H.

Bud also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars and small engines. He was a kind, loving man who saw the best in people and was ready to help any way he could. He attended the Chandler Church of the Firstborn where he remained faithful to his Lord all the days of his life.

Bud is preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Louis Wright, Marion Wright, George Wright, Gilbert Wright, and Frank Wright; sisters, Nora Wright-Overacker and Mary Wright-Walker. Extended family Pete Flanagan, Velma Clark, Doyle White and Marshall Gray.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Lynn) Wright of Chandler, OK; son, Scott Wright and wife Sheri of Chandler; daughter, Lori Burchette and husband Michael of Meeker, OK; grandchildren Dustin and Kelsey Wright, Zac and Ashley Bahm, Zach and Monika Wheat, Preston and Kimberly Burchette; great-grandchildren Hunter Wright, Conway Bahm, Jase Wright, Cohen Bahm, Penelope Wheat, Oakley Burchette, and Scarlett Wheat; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Marilyn Wright; brother, Gerold Wright; and sister, Marti Sikes. Extended family Francis Hamilton, Dortha Gray, Ken and Betty White, Laveta Flanagan, George White, Jerry and Ruby Polston, Verna and Carol Busby along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held for Bud from 5PM – 8PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK. Funeral service will be at 11AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Chandler Church of the Firstborn.
