Evelyn Marie (Bone) Wright

Evelyn Marie (Bone) Wright
May 13, 1932 ~ November 10, 2019

Memorial services for Evelyn Marie Bone Wright, 87, of Falconhead will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7 in the Marietta Church of Christ with Brother Tony Lalli officiating.

Born May 13, 1932, at Pike, the daughter of Samuel Preston “Prate” and Bulah Mae McKee Bone, she died Sunday, November 10, 2019, at Mercy Health Oklahoma City.

Evelyn was a graduate of Courtney High School, Class of 1950. On June 11, 1954, she and Billy Jack “Pete” Wright were united in marriage at the telephone office in Wilson, where she was employed. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2011. Evelyn enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, painting and sharing her creations with family and friends. She always said “my therapy is being in my yard.” Evelyn was Mom and MaMa to not only her own children and grandchildren, but also to her “kids” at church whom she has watched grow up. She and Pete became members of the Marietta Church of Christ in 1992 when they relocated to Falconhead from Decatur, Texas.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Bone and Don Bone.

Survivors include her daughter, Nita of Falconhead; son, Wayland, also of Falconhead; his daughter, Miranda, her fiancé David and daughter Penelope of Fort Worth, Texas; a special “daughter”, Charlotte Shores of Ardmore; as well as nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Our Mom was loved by so many people, and we were happy to share her with many close friends and family. To say she will be truly missed is such an understatement. Memorial donations may be made to the Marietta Church of Christ Building Fund.
