Donald Rex Wright

Aug. 22, 1924 ~ May 17, 2002

BORGER - Donald Rex Wright, 77, died Friday, May 17, 2002.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Wright was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Carnegie, Okla., and had lived in Borger since 1956. He moved to Hobart, Okla., in 1930 and graduated from Hobart High School in 1943.

He served in the Army during World War II, serving in Germany. He married Joyce Shelton on July 8, 1949. She preceded him in death in 1993. He worked for Phillips CoPoly Plant from 1956 to 1984 and was co-owner of Borger Realty from 1984 to 1992.

He married Dorris Flanagan in 1994. He was a member of Allegro R.V. Club, Borger Evening Lions, Isom Masonic Lodge, First Baptist Church and Swanson Friendship Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Wright; and a sister, Avis Heiney.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Tracy W. Wright and wife, Loyce, of Pampa; a daughter, Joy Rush and husband, Max, of Fritch; a stepson, Jeff Flanagan of Kansas City, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Jill Fox of Amarillo and Jan Haliburton of Keller; five grandchildren, Sondra Wright, Alexis Rush, Levi Rush, Aleigha Rush and Adam Wright; five stepgrandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
