David Wright, 79 and a long-time resident of Bartlesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 1:10pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017. He passed away from complications of pneumonia at Jane Phillips Medical Center where he had been a patient since November 20, 2017.
David has now been reunited with his beloved wife Janis who proceeded him in death on January 11, 2006.
David Arthur Wright was born on July 29, 1938 in Coffeyville, KS to David and Mildred (Porter) Wright. David grew up in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kinley High School. He married his high school sweetheart Janis Hayden on August 17, 1955.
David graduated from Coffeyville Community College with a degree in Accounting. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company for 37 years in the Comptrollers and Gas & Liquid Accounting Departments. He retired from Phillips in 1999.
David and his family were long time members of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of Deacons and sang in the church choir. At the time of his death, David was a member of Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church.
David is survived by two daughters Janis Dianne Hein and husband Jim of Houston, TX, Linda Wright Hope and husband Leonard of Allen, TX. He has four grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Hein Blanton and husband Jack of Houston, TX, Preston Arthur Hein also of Houston, TX, Lori Hope Townsend of Olathe, KS, Brad Hope and wife Kim of Atlanta, GA. He has four great grandsons, Jack Blanton IV, Brock Townsend, Jack and Palmer Hope. He is also survived by his sister Joan Wright and husband Bill of Ramona, OK and a sister-in-law Martha Ehart of Atlanta, GA. David had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well.
The family would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at Jane Phillips for their compassionate care for David in his final days, as well as, the caregivers of the Better Life Agency who have provided private care in his home.
Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, OK.
