Patsy Sue (Hogan) Wren

Patsy Sue (Hogan) Wren
February 28, 1936 ~ June 2, 2025

Patsy Sue Wren, age 89, passed from this life on June 2, 2025. Her story began on February 28, 1936, in Caddo, Oklahoma, to Matt Hogan and Mattie Hogan (Vincent).

Patsy attended Cobb Public School with interests in basketball and photography, as witnesses through her huge collection of family photos. She went on to college and earned her master’s degree. She married Gene Russell Wren (Papa Gene) on March 27, 1978, at Scott City Methodist Church. They spent many loving years together marked with annual photos in front of the Christmas Tree, until his passing in 2019. Patsy was a beloved elementary school teacher for most of her life and enjoyed helping kids grow and learn. Her fridge was covered in letters from past students who stayed in touch as adults. Patsy attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a proud member of both, the election board and a quilting club. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her grandkids and family. She was an extraordinary baker. You could always count on a fresh strawberry cake or some pecan pie muffins when you visited.

Loved beyond measure, Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; Matt Hogan and Mattie Hogan, her beloved husband; Gene Russell Wren, son; Bob Armor, son- in-law; Gordon, son-in-law; Brett, grandchildren; Josh Williams, and Donald Ray Sweeney III.

She is survived by her children; Donna Williams and special friend Billy McFatridge , Debra Hoon, Don Sweeney and spouse Marla, stepdaughters; Jynette Gibbs and spouse Phil, Susan Wiechman, Kendra Kendrick, and Denise Murphy and spouse Melvin, grandchildren; Jerry Williams and spouse DeeDee, Joey Williams and spouse Ashley, Janica Lawson and spouse Billy, Jeremy Spence and special friend Courtney, Justin Spence and spouse Sarah, Matt Hoon and special friend Jasmyn, Alicia O’Neill and spouse Dan, Miller Sweeney, Dalton Armor, Madison Armor and special friend Dave, Brad Gibbs and spouse Nickie, Gary Gibbs and spouse Lynn, Erik Wiechman and spouse LeAnn, Brian Wiechman and spouse Mikayla, Todd Kendrick and spouse Lauren, Trace Kendrick and spouse Stephanie, and Katelin Fokken and spouse Taylor, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A family led memorial service for Patsy will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma, at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Darel Bunch officiating.
