Mary Elizabeth Worthey, 71, returned to her heavenly home on January 4, 2018. Her devotion to her loved ones and her firm belief in God was at the forefront of all she did.
Mary was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 7, 1946. She spent her working years in food service at Luby's Cafeteria, Golden Corral, a PCA, and Wal-Mart as a cashier. She was a part of the family at Amazing Grace Community Church in Caney KS for the past 8+ years. She was a grandmother, mother, prayer warrior, and friend to many. She made a great impact as a Deaconess in the ministry at AGCC in the connection ministry, prayer ministry and in the kitchen always serving others. Her time living in Bartlesville was one of the happiest of her life where she found community and family.
She is survived by her Foster Daughter, Tina Woodall of Claremont NH, Aunt Peggy Hilburn of Tyler, TX, Uncle E C (Sonny) Glidden of Buna, TX, BFF's Bobbie & DeWayne VanAtta of Bartlesville, OK; and her church family at AGCC Caney, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Dewayne Ford; mother, Hilda Marie Glidden; and father, James Werner. Her love for her son, Dewayne was unmatched.
Mary's favorite silent prayer was that she would bring a smile to her Savior's face. Now she gets to smile at Him face to face. Her favorite song was, "When He was on the Cross, I was on His Mind".
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21st at Amazing Grace Community Church in Caney, KS. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Online condolences for the family can be made at www.walkerbrownfuneralhome.com.
