Georgia Worley, 77, of Amarillo died Monday, July 15, 2002.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Entombment will be in Memorial Park East Mausoleum.
Mrs. Worley was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Gilmer, the fourth of 10 children born to Joseph Franklin and Delitha Jessimer Bryce Warren. She began school in Pampa. She married Daniel B. "Red" Worley on Dec. 13, 1941, in Childress.
She moved to Amarillo in 1946 from Childress. She was a retired nurse, having graduated from Amarillo College School of Nursing in 1961. She was licensed to practice nursing in both Texas and Arizona.
As a nurse, she practiced at Northwest Texas Hospital, E.J. Bivins Home, Baptist Hospital and Southwest Osteopathic Hospital. She was a member of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Northwest Texas and Southwest Texas Chapters.
She was a member of DAV Auxiliary and Paramount Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Priscilla Sunday School Class. She was a volunteer at High Plains Baptist Hospital, Harrington Cancer Center, St. Anthony's Hospital, hospice and Meals on Wheels.
She was a member of Texas A&M Mother's Club. She was nominated in 1986 for the "Seven Who Care" Volunteer of the Year. She had a passion for writing poetry.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 7, 1995; three brothers, Leonard Franklin Warren in 1994, Joseph Alexander Warren in 1997 and Lloyd Chester Warren in 1977; and a grandchild, Dee Shannon in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Danny Worley of Edmonton, Alberta; two daughters, Sharon Harris and Debbie Shannon, both of Amarillo; four brothers, Nathon Clinton Warren and Bobby Gene Warren, both of Amarillo, Forest Wayne Warren of Greenbelt Lake, and Denver Lee Warren of Sun City, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Dell Warren Duncan of Lawton, Okla., and Barbara Annette Warren Smith of Midland; and four grandchildren, John Anthony Onorato, Michael Derek Onorato, Scott Daniel Shannon and Stephanie Lynn Shannon.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice; Myasthenia Gravis Foundation; and the Disabled American Veterans.
