Euva Jean (Pebsworth) Works

March 2, 1912 ~ July 6, 2002

Services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., on Friday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Norman Slert will officiate.

Euva was born in Bennington, Oklahoma on March 2, 1912 and joined our Lord in Heaven on July 6, 2002.

She graduated from Bennington High School, and briefly attended Durant State Teachers College in Durant, Oklahoma.

In October 1932, Euva married the love of her life, Wiley Works in Boswell, Oklahoma. In October 1936, their only child Joyce was born. After farming for eleven years they moved to California in 1943.

Euva was a loving wife and mother and her family meant everything to her. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. Euva enjoyed hosting frequent extended family gatherings. Mrs. Works and her husband have been members of First Presbyterian Church for many years.

Euva was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Kevin Beeson of Bakersfield; sisters, Ethel Fox and Lucille Pebsworth of Yuba City, Thelma Weathers of Jackson, California and brother, Jack Pebsworth of Boswell, Oklahoma.

Survivors include her husband, Wiley Works; daughter, Joyce Wallace and husband Jim of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Marci Myler and husband Monte of Orlando, Florida, Doloris Garcia and husband Richard of Bakersfield; great grandchildren, Ryan Beeson Garcia and Nickolas Garcia of Bakersfield; sisters, Velda Jones of Lemoore, Madge Fletcher of Fort Worth, Texas and brother, Bill Pebsworth of Yuba City.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 11 from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m.
