Al Workman, age 73, a lifelong Caney, OK resident. He was born on Tuesday, November 13, 1951, to James Robert and Eva Ethel (Tigert) Workman, at Oklahoma City, OK. Al passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Durant, OK. He attended Tushka Public School and graduated from Caney High School with the class of '70. Al was a truck driver. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, horses, and mules, taking care of his chickens and other critters at the house. He never turned down a free meal and loved eating with the family and aggravating. Al hit all the mule sales and festivities.
Al is survived by Linda Jones of the home; his children, Michele Deaton and husband Keith of Bentley, OK, Marty Wafford and husband Michael of Clarita, OK, Matt Workman and wife Ginia of Caney, OK; grandchildren, Kristen Loyd of Bentley, OK, Shane Hutson of Bentley, OK, Daniele Deaton of Tushka, OK, Cash Wafford of Clarita, OK, Lainee Wafford of Clarita, OK, Colton Workman of Caney, OK, Cassidy Workman of Atoka, OK; great grandchildren, Tyler Hutson, Gus Hutson, Kynsi Loyd, Lucie Rector, Lane Rector; siblings, Jimmy Workman and wife Rena of Caney, OK, Reta Mattison of Caney, OK, Ann Richardson and husband Roger of Caney, OK, Pat Duncan and husband Levi of Mead, OK, Mike Workman and wife Carla of Caney, OK, Mary Hooper and husband Mike of Bentley, OK, Zeni Workman of Durant, OK; brothers in law, Layton Gossett of Caney, OK, Bobby Willis of Caney, OK, Eddie Willis of Caney, OK, Oscar Willis of Macomb, OK; lifelong best friend, Del Peoples; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Eva Ethel
(Tigert) Workman; mother of his children, Susan Baugher; sister, Marie
Gossett; brothers in law, Harv Mattison, Bo Willis, Benny Willis, Larry
Willis.
